The Pokemon White 2 take place two years after the events of Pokemon White. Many changes have taken place in Unova over this period: new locations are accessible in the southwest and northeast of the region, and some previously existing locations cannot be visited or are restricted until later in the game, featuring a total of 300 unique creatures available from the start of the game, including Psyduck, Mareep, Growlithe, and Riolu. Three new Gym Leaders and a new Champion are introduced, while the Unova Pokedex is expanded to include Pokemon that are foreign to the region, much like in Pokemon Platinum.
Pokemon White starts in Nuvema Town in the player's room with Cheren, a childhood friend. Professor Juniper has left a gift box for the two and Bianca, another one of the player's friends, who arrives a little later. The box contains three Pokemon that the player can choose from. After the selection, Bianca will request a battle. When the battle is over, the room becomes cluttered due to the battle. Cheren heals both the player's and Bianca's Pokemon, and begins a battle with the player as well. If the player loses to Cheren, he will gloat about his victory. The three then go downstairs, and Cheren and Bianca will leave the house while the player's Mom will heal the Pokemon.
Pokemon Black 2 are set two years after the games Pokemon Black, and the Unova region has changed drastically with new locations and Pokemon from previous generations. The player - Nate, the male protagonist, or Rosa, the female protagonist - starts in a location southwest in Unova called Aspertia City with Hugh, the player's rival. They are given a starter Pokemon - Snivy, Tepig, or Oshawott - by Bianca, who is now Professor Juniper's assistant. As they venture out in Unova, they will challenge new and old Gym Leaders and encounter the new Team Plasma, while also meeting the old Team Plasma.
Pokemon Black follow the trends set up by previous games in the series. Two player characters travel a new region, Unova, on their Pokemon journeys. This region is inhabited by various Pokemon, and unlike before, none of those available prior to Generation V can be obtained before completing the main story by defeating Team Plasma. Unique to Black is the Pokemon Dream World, which is dependent on the official Pokemon Global Link website. Here, the player can befriend Pokemon that are not normally obtainable in-game and that have unique abilities
Pokemon Conquest was the second collaboration between Nintendo and Tecmo Koei, with the first being the Murasame Castle mode in Samurai Warriors 3. Because Tsunekazu Ishihara was a fan of Nobunaga's Ambition and Tecmo-Koei president Kou Shibasawa was a fan of Pokemon, this presented an opportunity to work with each other. Among one of the key design elements of Ransei was the fact that the first Nobunaga's Ambition game featured 17 regions, just as there were 17 different Pokemon types at the time. Among Koei's game franchises, this is the first collaboration effort for Nobunaga's Ambition; all previous collaborations had been through the Warriors series.
The plot of Pokemon Heart Gold the same as Gold with a few changes and included plot elements exclusive to Pokemon Crystal. The player, either Ethan or Lyra, begins his/her journey from New Bark Town, running an errand for Professor Elm to Mr. Pokemon's house to discover what he was so excited about. Elm supplies the player with one of three Pokemon, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile, for this errand. After Mr. Pokemon's discovery turns out to be an Egg, the player returns to New Bark Town, only to find that a suspicious red-haired boy seen lurking outside of Elm's lab earlier has stolen one of Elm's Pokemon.
